Dr Gaye Homemade Almond Milk Recipe

We at Dr Gaye love to make our own plant-based mylk! Almond milk is one of our favourites because it’s high in nutrients but lower in calories than other non-dairy milks. It’s easy to make and tastes so much better than anything you can buy in a box!

Ingredients:

250g raw almonds (soak raw almonds for 48hrs and change the water twice a day)
2 pints water
Nut mylk bag (available from most health food shops)
2 dried apricots or dates soaked for 24 hrs (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Add soaked almonds and water to high powered blender and blend well.
  2. Pour into the nut mylk bag and let it drain and drip into a clean jar for an hour.
  3. Put the nut mylk into the blender with the soaked dried fruit (for taste and sweetness) and its water.
  4. Blend until smooth.
  5. Drink and feel virtuous!
